Trish Carpenter

Trish has been a passionate educator for 16 years, teaching both Music and History. A classically trained pianist, Trish realized her real love was in classroom teaching and facilitating opportunities for young creative talents. A lover of all music, Trish is a Musical Theatre zealot and knows all the lyrics to every single Sara Bareilles song.

Charlie Hill

One of the most in demand drummers in the Brisbane music scene, we introduce to you, Charlie, our instrumental drum teacher. He is a self proclaimed ‘practice’ lover and cites that working collaboratively within a band gives him enormous satisfaction. Charlie’s passion for his craft is definitely infectious.


Adam Hak

Adam Haks is a talented musician who graduated with Distinction in Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. With a musical upbringing, he started playing multiple instruments at a young age and focused on Trombone and Piano in 2015. He has performed extensively in various ensembles, including Queensland Youth Symphony, and teaches piano to primary-aged students at Brisbane Piano Studio. Currently, he works as a Brass tutor and is a guest member of various bands in Brisbane.


Grace Cockburn

Vocalist and pianist Grace Cockburn has been working as a professional musician for 15 years. She has travelled throughout Western Europe with her jazz duo and toured Japan twice as a feature soloist with ‘Isabella A Cappella’. She has performed all over Australia with Lisa Hunt’s Forever soul band, Milk Buttons and Menajerie and it is this vast performance experience that imbuses her teaching practise with joy and passion.

Honour roll graduate from the Jazz Music Institute, she works as a private music teacher, freelance musician, and musical director all over the east coast of Australia.


Maree Kilpatrick

Maree Kilpatrick is a highly skilled pianist and music educator from Brisbane. With her Amusa and LmusA diplomas in piano performance and her degree from the University of Southern Queensland and the University of Auckland, she has won numerous awards and scholarships throughout her career. Maree has performed with various ensembles and directed the Dusk at Gabbinbar Recital Series while working as a freelance pianist and music tutor. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at Griffith University and is a member of the Corymbia Piano Trio.


Sophie Schafer

Sophie Schafer is a passionate flute player and music educator currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. With years of experience in playing and teaching, she specializes in working with beginner and intermediate students and using the AMEB curriculum to prepare them for practical and theory exams. Sophie offers flexible lesson times and teachers from her home music studio. She is also a member of various ensembles at the Conservatorium and has played with the Queensland Youth Orchestra.


Dr Paul Ballam-Cross

Dr Paul Ballam-Cross is a composer and classical guitarist. He has completed a Bachelor of Music in Performing majoring in classical guitar and has studied privately with botth Karin and Isolde Schaupp. Paul has completed a Doctor of Philosophy, discussing counterpoint and performance on the guitar. His research interests include transcriptions for guitar, as well as the intersections between popular music and the internet. Paul is a regular reviewer for Limelight Magazine, and a causal lecturer at the University of Queensland.


Tyler Cooney

Tyler Cooney is an accomplished musician and dedicated teacher who offers an approachable and fun learning experience. He tailors his lessons to each student’s individual needs and offers a contemporary intergrated syllabus covering various genres and skills. Tyler’s qualifications, real-world experience, and passion for music make him an exceptional teacher who helps students reach their full potential.
